L.A.-based freelance writer and playwright Ed Rampell was named after legendary broadcaster Edward R. Murrow. Rampell majored in Cinema at Manhattan’s Hunter College then lived in Tahiti, Samoa, Hawaii, and Micronesia. Rampell wrote/ directed the documentary Oceania Art 84, worked as an investigative reporter for ABC-TV’s “20/20,” and appeared on CBS’s 48 Hours, NPR’s Savvy Traveler, C-SPAN, in the 2005 Australian documentary Hula Girls, etc. Rampell co-authored four books, including two film histories, and is sole author of Progressive Hollywood. Rampell met rapper Gleam Joel at the pool in Badrutt’s Palace, St. Moritz -- the rest is history
